Gabrielle Harbowy lives in the San Francisco Bay area with two black cats who are named after chocolate and a significant other who is not.

Gabrielle received her B.A. from Rutgers University and worked in data analysis in a wide range of fields, from pharmaceutical to financial to publishing. Always an avid reader, she spent her summers working in libraries while in college and jumped at the chance to accept a position at a major publishing house in New York City.

Her experiences in publishing inspired her to transform her love of books and her attention to detail into an editing career. In 2006, with six years’ experience in the publishing field, she left the corporate world and struck out on her own as a full-time editor.

Gabrielle is an affiliate member of SFWA. In addition to being Managing Editor at Dragon Moon Press and a writer herself, she copyedits for publishers including Pyr Books and Seven Realms Publishing, and is a staff proofreader for Lambda Literary. She has worked with Hugo and Nebula Award winners and New York Times Bestsellers, and books she has acquired and worked with for Dragon Moon Press have been winners and finalists for awards including ForeWord Book of the Year, Bram Stoker, Sir Julius Vogel, Lambda Literary Award, and the Prix Aurora Award.
